Manufacturing Engineer, CNC Shop Background |
Johnson & Tregar Associates | $75,000 - $90,500/Year | 7/19 |
| Details: OK, here's the thing: We have two clients, both looking for the same kind of Engineer, and both medical device manufacturers. Neither job is in Natick - one is about a half hour south of Natick, and one about a half hour north of Natick. What both companies want is a Manufacturing Engineer who has strong CNC shop experience. One of these positions is for a validation engineer, where you, as a Manufacturing Engineer, will validate product from an in-house shop (Milling Turning and Grinding) and make process improvements. In this job, you will be working on protocol development for one-of-a-kind, made-to-order, surgical instruments. In this job, you must know, and I mean really know, machine capacity and capability. You will, essentially, be doing "on the spot" process development and improvement. The other job has some similarities, but in this case machined parts are made by suppliers, as the in-house shop is inconsequential (mostly jigs and fixtures). In this second position, you will work as a Manufacturing Engineer on the supplier side. You will work closely with suppliers to assure the parts are up to standard, and will suggest process improvements to suppliers. Part of your job will also be to evaluate new suppliers. This client makes very precise medical instruments, so any variation in parts manufacturing could be disastrous. Your job is to make sure that those variations do not happen. These are two very good jobs, with very good Medical Device companies. Both of these jobs are very important, high visibility spots. Growth prospects in either of these positions is great. Let's face it: machine shop skills in New England are becoming more and more rare. If you have those skills, then I think you owe it to yourself to at least look at one, or both, of these positions. I think you will be pleased with what you see. | ||||
